I woke up at 6 AM and went to Kamakura to visit my father’s grave. After updating him on my recent life, I also paid my respects at the main family grave. I pulled some weeds and offered flowers and incense. The flowers at the shop were pretty expensive, so I hesitated a bit, but I ended up buying a medium-sized bouquet. In the end, everything we do is for our own satisfaction. Feeling a sense of relief, I decided to drive down to Hayama. I walked along the coast, took a few photos, and then headed back home. The car’s air conditioner is broken, and I honestly thought the heat might break me down before I made it back.

朝6時に起きて鎌倉に墓参りに行った。父の墓で近況報告をしてから本家の墓にも手を合わせに行った。雑草を抜いて、花と線香を手向けた。売店に売っていた花が結構高かったので、正直少し躊躇ったが中ぐらいの花を買った。あらゆることは結局自己満なのだ。気持ちがスッキリしたので葉山の方まで足を伸ばしてみた。海岸沿いを歩いて、写真を数枚撮って家に戻ってきた。車のエアコンが壊れていて、途中暑さで自分が壊れるかと思った。
